Photographs four and five show much of the upper level, east face of the 1857 Barn, as well a small portion of the
South Addition.

Both the author and Jim Gumbert are Amateur Radio (ham) operators. We would sometimes make contact with other hams via radio while at the barn, using a long
piece of wire for an antenna. Photos six through nine were taken as we erected such an antenna. One end was anchored to Jim's Ford Explorer, while the other was attached to the eave of the barn.
Contacting hams around the world was potentially possible using this antenna.
