Images one through three look primarily at the west side of the 1857 Barn. Numbers one and three are facing to the northeast towards Tipp City. Roof leakage was a serious problem with the barn. One of the early tarps put in place to prevent rain water leakage into the barn's interior can be seen in these photos.

Photographs four and five show much of the upper level, east face of the 1857 Barn, as well a small portion of the South Addition. | Both the author and Jim Gumbert are Amateur Radio (ham) operators. We would sometimes make contact with other hams via radio while at the barn, using a long piece of wire for an antenna. Photos six through nine were taken as we erected such an antenna. One end was anchored to Jim's Ford Explorer, while the other was attached to the eave of the barn. Contacting hams around the world was potentially possible using this antenna.
