"muel" and other writing appeared on the interior of the door. Could this be part of the name "Samuel", as in Samuel Coppock, the owner of the barn? Could
this piece of wood have been among materials shipped to Samuel Coppock for use in building the barn?

More unusual writing near the entrance to the
South Extension. This shade of blue or something similar was also found on some of the vents in the
1857 Barn, and also in the south door threshold of the nearby farmhouse.

Ten through sixteen: The northwest section of the
1857 Barn's roof was badly damaged by water and was judged too dangerous to walk on. A ladder was placed over the
worst portion of that area and this allowed Jim Gumbert to move around without fear of falling through the roof.

Nearing sunset on the evening of Sunday, October 10, 2004. The west side of the 1857 Barn had seen an estimated
7,600 Sunday evening sunsets up to that time.
