One through four: A badly water-damaged section of purlin in the upper level of the northeast area in the
1857 Barn. If this purlin had rot completely through, the roof would have almost certainly collapsed.

Five through twenty-four: A series of photographs taken as Jim Gumbert was working on the
purlin cradle, which he designed and built. It would later be installed in the northeast area of the upper level of the
1857 Barn, atop the north seed room, to prevent an imminent roof collapse.
